In late August, the second cycle of the Fundo de Mulheres Indigenas do Brasil (Brazilian Indigenous Women’s Fund), or FMIB, launched and gathered 16 Indigenous women from the northeast, south, and southeast regions of Brazil.
Nominated by Indigenous organizations, these women will implement action plans over the next 90 days. Their work focuses on empowering girls, youth, women, and elders by strengthening local communities, enhancing education and economic access, protecting territories and the environment, promoting political organization, and combating violence against Indigenous women. This cycle represents a powerful step in uplifting Indigenous voices and advancing crucial causes.
FMIB is supported by Seed Flow Funds, a program designed for funders to flow funds quickly and where needed by placing decision making in the hands of community leaders.
